Dear JohnnyFlamethrower,
We noticed that you are no longer a Premium Member. Would you mind taking a moment to let us know why?

Thanks,

Dear DA,

In answer to your query: When I first joined this site, it was an impressive, one of a kind community. There were artists from all walks of life, all skill levels, and the spirit of true artistic expression permeated my every interaction here. It affected me so deeply that I went out, secured my very first camera, and began generating images of my own.

That was a little over four years ago. In my first two years as an artist, I made hundreds of wonderful friends, scored three daily deviations, and shared insights with artists from around the globe. And despite the fact that my work resides exclusively in the fetish genre, people here generally understood that it was all about the art and not the tits; most comments and watches were from active artists, and while there were always a few "Ooooh, lookit ---- she's naaaaaaked!!!!" comments from the T&A crowd, the majority of my watchers were in fact female rather than horny little boys or lecherous old men. In short, the focus was on the artistry of it.

However, in the last few years, the IQ of the average DA viewer has plummeted considerably and shows no sign of slowing in its descent. More and more, the notes and comments directed my way contain impotent remarks about what some pea-brain wants to do to the girls, or pathetic requests from gawkers overseas hoping to contact the models, "just to talk".

As an experiment, a friend and I examined demographics from a recent JFT submission. 108 viewers made the image a favorite; of those, 18 were females, 90 were males, and over 40 of those males were non-artists without a single deviation to their name. As a rule, the male, non-artists had accrued massive bondage collections as if gobbling up images 20 or 30 at a time in an effort to amass an impressive home jerk-off library.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against masturbation --- some folks are quite good at it. But that's not what I'm here for, nor are my girls. I'm not moralizing, I'm just saying that at its very best, art is a luxury, an inspiration working in support of the essentials. But if what we're doing here inspires nothing more than an erection in the pants of some horny wretch who clearly can't get laid, then what's the point? To DA it's money in the bank, to the mindless rabble it's semen in the palm, but to me it's just a big fat drag.

Does that answer your question?

Best,
johnny
